ECD实验室学校

The ECD实验室学校 operates preschool 教室 for 3 to 5 year-olds, from August 至6月. The program fosters healthy social-emotional 发展 while providing opportunities for creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and school readiness.

 

Our site simultaneously provides Chabot students with the benefits of demonstration, observation, modeling, hands-on application, feedback and scaffolding from our Early Childhood Development 教师 and Specialists. Lab preschools offer a critical link in facilitating and enhancing early childhood teacher education efforts by providing a 工作模型 to reflect best practices in the field. Each academic year hundreds of Chabot students are able to gain practical class房间 experience, make connections between theory and practice, develop professional behaviors, and build the comprehensive understanding of children and families necessary for developing teacher competencies.

The “大学 ECD实验室学校 serves Southern Alameda County providing quality care for the children of students, faculty and community and provides training to students of Early Childhood Development (ECD). We provide a safe environment that meets the 发展al needs of children which nurtures their curiosity and love 学习的. The ECD实验室学校 acknowledges that parents are the child's first teacher and strives to build relationships with families that lead to a strong 合作伙伴hip which reflects sensitivity to issues of diversity: such as ethnicity, culture, and 发展.

课程

“大学 ECD实验室学校 follows a philosophy of Emergent and Creative 课程 适用于所有年龄层. We have state and federally funded programs for families who qualify for CalWORKs, State Pre School and Head Start, full and part time. To receive subsidized childcare and 发展al services, families must meet eligibility and need requirements. The Lab School closes on all non-instructional days. 该项目提供全日制 and part-time according to enrollment eligibility and availability.

The staff is highly qualified both in terms of academic training and experience. 所有 staff meet or exceed licensing requirements and requirement for the Child Development Permit Matrix adopted by the state of California. ECD实验室学生

The Chabot ECD Lab students complete their lab hours in the 教室 and have assigned tasks; they interact with children and help the teachers with all aspects of the program. The students are considered part of the staff and work as a team in the individual 教室.

父母的参与

Parents are encouraged to participate in the daily activities of their child's class房间. Parent involvement will support their child's 发展 and parent/teacher communication. Parents are required to meet with their teacher at least once per semester. 一个方向 is held each year for new and returning parents that include topics such as philosophy, program goals, objectives, eligibility criteria, fee requirements, and program activities. We also offer monthly parent events that support parents around health, parenting 以及其他话题.

We encourage suggestions from our parents and work with them in a collaborative manner.

咨询委员会

The Center has an 咨询委员会 made up of parents, staff, ECD faculty, and community 合作伙伴. The board reviews issues and makes recommendations for the program.
